How to request deletion

Send an email to support@awakeminder.com with the subject Delete my AwakeMinder account. Send it from the email address you signed up with, so we know the request is yours; if you no longer have access to that address, tell us and we will verify you another way. You may also uninstall the app first — uninstalling alone does not delete your account.

What is deleted

• Your sign-in identity: name, email address, phone number and password, held by our authentication provider.
• Your device registrations, so no further notifications are sent to your phones.
• Your text-message consent record.
• Your membership in every organization you belong to. You will no longer appear as a caregiver anyone can schedule, or as an escalation contact anyone can call.

What may be kept, and why

AwakeMinder exists to record whether a caregiver was awake on a given night. That record belongs to the organization that scheduled the night, and it may need it long afterwards — for an insurer, a family, or a state audit. So awake checks, escalation events and notification records from nights you worked are retained by that organization, with your name replaced by an anonymised identifier. They no longer identify you, and nobody can contact you through them.

We may also keep what the law requires us to keep, for as long as it requires, as described in section 8 of our Privacy Policy.

Timing

We confirm your request within 30 days. Your sign-in is removed first, usually within a few days; anonymisation of the records above follows within 90 days.

If you did not create the account

If an organization entered your details as an escalation contact and you never signed up, you may still ask to be removed: write to the same address and we will identify the organization and act on the request or pass it to them, as described in section 9 of the Privacy Policy.
